TERRIFIC TRICHY YOUTH CAMP...

Duke Jeyaraj and Evan Duke
We are glad to let you know that the Lord did mighty things in our Trip to the South Indian Town of Trichy for ministry.Have a look at the pictures attached that sort of tell you the story of our trip in a colorful way.

The 120 in Shalom Gardens...

Over 120 young people from 7 towns/cities and the country of Rwanda attended the Countdown 2009 - a inter church youth camp organised by the Trichy Team under the fatherly patronage of Bro. Ravinderan in the serene Shalom Gardens in Trichy.

Young people from various backgrounds attended the camp
Datasha in Shalom Gardens, the venue for the camp

Duke challenged them by a message on temptations, first up, based on an imaginary interview he did with Bible Characters who beat temptation and lost to temptation. Almost all the audience vowed to the Lord that they would lead a holy life by incorporating the practical steps suggested in that powerful talk.

Duke answered questions, the young people had, for over two hours on varied topics such as life partner choice, women in preaching ministry, etc in this camp. In one other session, while Duke answered the questions posed by the guys in the camp on sex, love and marriage, and other intimate taboo matters, his wife, Evan, did the same with the ladies folk. The youth were enlightened. One person walked up to Duke to say that Duke was only the second person he had heard, who spoke so openly from the Bible with a down to earth approach on sexuality, coupled with gripping presentation skills, all his life and ministry . Our boldness and beauty of presentation comes from the Lord and we thank Him. We have miles to travel before we sleep and plenty of room to improve.

Evan, Duke's wife, taught the young people on the subject matter of relationships with parents, elders, friends and the opposite gender in a candid talk from the Bible. Hear this: Duke, who usually speaks with a Tamil Interpreter to Tamil audiences, served as her Tamil Translator! Later with Bharat of Karunya Institute of Technology, standing next to her to interpret, Evan preached a powerful message on the Holy Spirit. The flow of that message was just out of the world. And the booming voice with which it was delivered was appreciated, all the more, because it came from a lady's mouth. About 20 people received Holy Spirit Baptism. It was a powerful, powerful time.

After Evan's Holy Spirit Baptism session

Evan preaches as Bharat interprets into Tamil

Later Duke challenged the youth with the message, What Motivated Paul to Dedicate All His One Life To Jesus and His Work. 20 young people gave their lives for full-time ministry following that message by coming forward to the altar call given for missionary martyrdom (if there is a need for that). Almost, all of the rest of the youth vowed to use their time talent and treasures for God's Kingdom's extension in some way or the other.

The CDs, books, magazines we took along, carrying our messages, were sold briskly (for over 2000 rupees).

The Red Revival Team from Bangalore also shared the pulpit with Duke and Evan and did a good job. The preaching of Bro. Hari, in the TD Jakes style, stood out. The Trichy Team lead in singing/worship in an anointed, creative way. Mike Praveen from this team, was the one with whom I was in touch with with regard to this camp. Uncle Ravinderan, the generous owner of the camp site, also chipped in with very apt devotional messages that blessed the youth.

The Red Revival Team who ministered mightily along with us

We were lovingly served by the energetic young people from the Tirchy Team. Every step we took in the camp site, they were here to assist us in getting us what we needed, be it water or food or whatever.

The Lord was at work in the Youth Camp, clearly. Great things, He did there!

Travel, Travel, Travel, People, People, People

Dale in front a tall tree in Kodai

In the home of Daniel and Ruby, in Chennai on the way back...

(Duke, Evan and the kids) had time to visit Kodaikanal Hills just for a day before the camp. We loved it! We met/stayed with old friends such as Christie (while going to the camp and she treated us with dinner) and Daniel and Ruby (while coming back from the camp). We stopped at Duke's place in Vellore, Duke's Chitappa's place in Tondiarpet, Chennai and also at Evan's grandparents place in Gudiyattham (Kuzhitigai interior village, actually). These times with relatives was refreshing. Duke's dad came to Trichy to take Dale along with him when the camp went on. And that gave more time to pray and prepare.

Train bogie detaches.... The Gospel attaches to the co passengers...

We safely reached Hyderabad (even though some of the bogies of the train we travelled bafflingly detached during the journey - the problem was rectified). We gave Gospel tracts that Duke penned, Bubbly Outside, Yet Empty Inside, to folk around and also the Gospel Special magazine of The Days of Your Youth during our train travel. We vote, vouch for direct evangelism, any day!

One person we gave tracts to in the train became pally with our kids

Beat Temptations Bible Study

Duke leads II Samuel Beat Temptation Bible Study.....

Duke, almost immediately, 14 June, had to lead the Interchurch Bible Study in the home of Bro. Christopher. The Lord blessed the practical summary of the book of II Samuel that Duke lead. Lessons on beating sexual temptation, on leadership were learnt. Bro. Rajkumar cooked and served dinner for those who came. One Dentist drive 50 kms on his bike to attend this study! The message of the book wrapped around the name DAVID JESSIE!

THE PHONE CALL FROM MUSCAT….

G-4 MISSION MINISRY REPORT BY EVANGELIN DUKE

God did it all. We were just the instruments. And do I have to tell you that we were very glad that He used us. Let me tell you why we were so very glad to be gladiators for God to grab the Google Gen from going to Gehenna (Hell)…. Let me elaborate as to why we have plenty to praise God for….

Duke Jeyaraj, the man I wake up with every morning, a man you know is called by God to grab the Google Gen from going to Gehenna and Yank the Yahoo Youth towards Yahweh was there in these meetings presenting God’s Word powerfully wrapped around contemporary events in way that made sure they woke up from their sleep and listened intently:

1000 YOUNG PEOPLE!

... in the Youth Alive service of the New Life Assemblies of God church in Hyderabad. Duke improvised on the title of a movie starring Leonardo Da Vinci titled, The Blood Diamond, to preach a message called, The Diamond Blood, on the fourth saturday of this March. Close to 1000 youth heard a heart-melting message on what the Blood of Jesus could do for them from the word, "Blood" itself. The altar was crowded. There were wet eyes. Young folk were swept by the Love of the Savior for them.

GOOD FRIDAY CORPORATES EVENT

In a Good-Friday themed event organized Infosys Fellowship, Duke powerfully presented the Gospel to 80 Corporates-employed youth from 15 companies
… in a Good Friday themed event organized by Infosys Fellowship on April 7, 2009 in Gachibowli. That night it was raining cats and dogs. There was no power supply in the small church that was the chosen as the venue. But all of that did not prevent 80 hungry young folks from the Corporate World representing 15 companies (including Google, Dell, Oracle…) from being there to hear a powerful testimony and the message, “Seven Statements that point to Heaven!” Duke was sweating buckets after that message in that hot room. But what was more, quite a few repeated the sinner’s prayer with him and got out the broad road that leads to hot hell! Yes, in that pitch darkness, people who lived in darkness crossed over to a Light-filled life in Jesus!
NATIONAL AG YOUTH CONFERENCE…
Duke met with his old Bible College buddies and preached a stirring revival message in the National Assemblies of God Youth Conference in Hyderabad this April
Dr. David Balasingh with Evan, Datasha and Joy in the National Youth Conference of Assemblies of God in Hyderabad. He taught Duke "Principles of Preaching" when Duke was a Bible College Student. And Duke had the humbling privilege of preaching with him in the audience in that conference
…..in the National Assemblies of God Youth Conference in Hyderabad on 21 April upon the very kind invitation of Rev. Valson Varghese, the National Youth Coordinator for the Assemblies of God of India and Duke’s local church pastor. The message that about 300 Youth Pastors / Youth Leaders from Kohima to Kerala heard that day was titled, “Sleeping or Speeding” and was delivered at a blistering pace. Duke was honored and humbled to preach this message with Preaching Professor in Bible College sitting in the first row – Dr. David Balasingh and Southern Asia Bible College classmates – Rouko Angami, Biswa Ratna Rai and Sunny Prasad – sitting in the last row! What was more - The Holy Spirit was at work from the first to the last, during that message.

NATIONAL CORPORATE BELIEVERS CONFERENCE….

In the National Workplace Ministry Conference in SAIACS CEO Centre, Bangalore, May 1-3, over 120 Corporates from almost every major Indian City heard two of Duke’s compelling presentations

…in the National Workplace Ministry Conference, in the SAIACS CEO Centre, Bangalore, May 1-3 upon the very warm invitation of Mr. Mohan Patnaik, Executive Director, UBS (Swiss Bank). The two apt and acrobatic presentations that were made by Duke in these two meetings were titled, “Paul, the Google Gen Gospel Presenter”(a message from Acts 26) and “Work – Life Balance, A Biblical Call”. It was indeed a rare privilege and a wonderful God-given distinction for my husband to join Mr. Anand Mahadevan (Outlook Business Editor and author of the widely-read Outlook article, “I, the convert”), Mrs. Jaya Abraham (whose testimony was also published in Outlook – a Corporate Company Vice President from Mumbai), Mr. C. B. Samuel, Mr. Ajoy Varghese, Mr. Edward Kuntam, Rev. Dr. J.N. Manokaram and others in teaching/making presentations in this standout meeting. The 120 Corporate Company folks who attended this first ever National level conference for believers in the Corporate World represented almost most of the major cities in India. History was made. History-makers were created. God was at work in this conference aptly called, God@Work Conference.
Duke also had the privilege of speaking in the following churches, of late:
2000 PEOPLE HEAR THE WORD!

Over 50% of the core team of the Calvary Temple committed for fulltime ministry following Duke’s hot mission challenge to them from Bible Questions this March

Duke gets ready to speak to over 2000 people at Calvary Temple at Kukatpally on Easter Sunday Evening. The Lord blessed that message on, "What Would You Give The Resurrected Jesus."

…..Calvary Temple, lead by TV Evangelist Bro. Satish Kumar in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. Over 2000 people hungrily lapped up the message that was preached that Easter Sunday evening titled, “What Would You Offer The Resurrected Jesus?”

YAHOO ENGINEER STORY AND THE GOSPEL STORY

Two American students were among those immensely blessed by Duke’s message in the Sunday Service of Capstone AG Church in Gachibowli this April

….Capstone Assemblies of God Church in Gachibowli lead by his Bible College Room Mate, Pastor Chaitanya Gera on April 19. As Duke wrapped and presented the Gospel around the story of a suicide-committing Indian Yahoo Engineer in the United States, some folks were saved.

DUKE MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY

Duke leads two Bible Book Practical Summary studies in two places in Hyderabad every month. Here is his son, Dale, along with Bro. Chitty, seen, trying to lead in the singing in one such Bible Study!

Duke was used by the Lord to lead Practical Bible Book Summary Studies for believers from different churches in the following places:

One section of the young corporate youth that attended the Bible Study that Duke leads in the home of Daniel and Magdalene near Villa Marie College every month on the the fourth Sunday Evening

…..in the centrally located large home of Daniel-Magdalene in Raj Bhavan Road, Hyderabad, studies were lead on Malachi (March) and Joshua (April). After lapping up life-changing truths presented from Duke’s unique “name-of-the-bible-book-used-as-an-acronym-for-its-message” method, these folks from various churches and corporates were served Dinner – thanks to the Daniels.

…. in the home of Bro. Christopher, closer to our rented home in A. S. Rao Nagar, Secunderabad, Duke gleaned out practical lessons to summarize the whole message of the books of Judges (March), Ruth (April) and I Samuel (May). Bro. Rajkumar volunteered to tastily prepare and serve dinner for people from various churches who showed up, traveling 15 to 20 kms. Jesus said, “Man shall live by bread alone by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God!” Duke’s ministry philosophy is on based on this just-quoted Scripture. “It would take quite a while and a lot of effort to search every word of the God (found in the Bible) and study it. So let us at least read and study every book of God’s book, the Bible and go about in our effort to understand it’s message. And we would be wise to start with the practical study of the lesser known Old Testament books!” And that is what happens in these rare, rocking Bible Studies.

WRITING FOR THE WHOLE WORLD…

Writing remains Duke’s primary call. Of late Light of Life, India’s leading Christian magazine (available online at lightoflife-india.com), Insight magazine published by Southern Asia Bible College where Duke studied and the Rural Echo, made available by Maharashtra Village Ministries carried Duke’s articles.

Giving out tracts is something we keep doing to keep our spiritual temperature warm. As we holidayed in Bangalore, shopped in Commercial Street, hung out in Cubbon Park, we gave out tracts to modern youth who crossed our path. Handing out tracts to interested co-passengers in the Train when we recently traveled to Bangalore was an exciting experience! We saw one lady reading the tract, we created with God enabling us touchingly titled, Bubbly Outside, Yet Empty Inside, non-stop till she was totally through in the Bangalore-Kacheguda Express! On the Day of Judgment she would not be able to give the excuse, “I do not know who Jesus is. Was he an IPL cricketer playing in a Team I was not following that much?!” And God would absolve us of her blood, which would otherwise be on our head, on that Terrible Day! What a joy it would be - both for her and for us - if she got saved!

SOME HOW, SAVE SOME!

While we were in Bangalore recently we tried to get across the Word of God using different methods:

….by bringing in the Gospel during a very casual conversation on Why Bad Things Happen To Good People while having breakfast with a “Train” friend. Before we parted ways and were ready to say, “Bye”, he was given the “Gospel Special” issue of The Days of Your Youth along with a CD copy containing three of Duke’s Gospel presentations including, a forthright Gospel message on the uniqueness of Christ!

….by gifting his long-lost, without-Christ, B. Tech. Agricultural Engineering classmate he recently met in Bangalore with more copies of The Days of Your Youth magazine as they were ready to bid Good Bye after lunch together!

THE MUSCAT CALL….

Through Podcasts (duke.mypodcast.com) and Youtube (under the name of Duke Jeyaraj) uploads more and more people across the planet are being exposed to these kind of presentations that wrap Bible Truths around modern day events. To give you an example - Duke recently got a call from Muscat from a man who watched his Youtube video clip! A daring, direct message yet dearly delivered that Duke preached in an influential Roman Catholic home titled, "Wrong Ideas Catholics Have," (corrected in the light of the Bible) has been uploaded onto our site, duke.mypodcast.com, along with other interesting messages. Pass the link to those who need to hear the message.

NEW MINISTRY WAY PROPELLED BY VOLUNTEERS

The official website of our ministry (www.TheDaysOfYourYouth.com) has seen over 54,000 hits. This site is so well managed by Santhosh William, now with Haggai Institute – a young man who gives his free time for our ministry. The www.G-4Mission.Blogspot.com site carries our ministry reports dotted with pictures. This site is managed by Fenella Prince – a young woman who works for Wipro in Bangalore. SMSs from my mobile (9441352433) with ministry news and prayer calls will are being sent through the Internet. Solomon Paul is taking the lead in doing this. We cannot thank God enough for these vigorous, vibrant volunteers. Sharon working in Accenture (Chennai) and Eugene Pandian (my friend from Agricultural Institute, Allahabad living presently in Bangalore) are two new people who join our ever-expanding volunteers team. Issue No.17 of The Days mag was designed delectably by them. Shruthi Joy, Stephen Jothiraj, Bro. Christopher Tharalla take time to read what Duke writes to make sure you read all of Duke's swallowed up words too. God bless this Word-Sword-Squad (Editing Team). Continue to pray for our ministry. Your support means much to us. In some ways you are like who gather the supplies for the battle and those who make sure the supply does not run dry! We are like those who have gone for the battle (having said, “tata”, to our worldly jobs) trying our best to wrest the google gen from the grip of the Satan who is sold out to take them with them to Gehenna (Hell). God’s Word says the reward is the same for the “suppliers” and “soldiers” (I Sam 30:24). Do I hear you say a “Wow!”?

Testimonies We received:

What you wrote made us float….
(Then we quickly got back to the ground to gloat “in the Lord!” who made all this possible!!).

The following are selections of emails/SMSs/Scraps that Duke Jeyaraj received recently:

Hi Duke...I just received the latest issue of your magazine (thro’ email)... it looks really great these days...the content has always been inspiring and challenging, but over the past few issues the layout and overall look of the magazine is classy - Devananadham Henry, New Jersey, The U. S.

Hello Bro. Duke, I am so glad to see you and blessed by your powerful spiritual messages in the youth camp I attended in Carmel Campus in Hyderabad. Especially the Great message HOW TO OVERCOME TEMPTATIONS, you preached helps me a lot when I face many temptations when I am with my colleagues….The best decision I ever took was after your second message in the camp in which you called for people who commit for fulltime ministry to come forward. I came forward and so did 50% of the audience! – one young camper in one of the youth camps Duke preached in this March 2009.

Duke’s right!! – one comment after someone watched Duke’s Youtube message clip video, Nudity and Porn: Kate Winslet Vs The Bible.

My wife and I want to let you know that last week we crossed the mile stone of distributing the 10000th tract…Besides helping us sow His seeds in the Salt Lake area wherein we reside, membership for the Care Group meeting at our residence (Wednesday 07.00 pm) has increased. - Jebaraj D.G., Country Director, Compassion International.
